What’s been happening:

I am now an environmental engineer employed by LMI in McLean, VA, beginning in January 2009 and a colonel in the Army Reserve. Before that I was on active duty for 3 years as the Director of Safety, Health, and Environment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. From 2004 - 2005 I was the Army Base Realignment and Closure Division's Environmental Program Manager. In early 2004 I was on active duty deployed to Kuwait as the Force Health Protection Officer in the Coalition Forces Land Component Command (Forward) Surgeon's Office during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) II. In 2003 I was the Third Medical Command Liaison Officer to the Office of the Army Surgeon General's Office in Falls Church, VA. In 2002 I was deployed to Kuwait to serve as the Sanitary Engineer of Third Medical Command (Forward) during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) I. Prior to that I served as a civilian for 9 years as the Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps Water Program Manager. After 21 years of marriage, my first wife, Alison MacDonald, passed away in March 2005 and I married Kristine M. Kingery in April 2006. I have one daughter, Catherine, who will be a junior at Frostburg State College in September 2009. I enjoy traveling to Ireland and Japan, gardening, and reading about military history.
